安倍元首相銃撃事件｜Assassination of Shinzo Abe
元内閣総理大臣で自由民主党所属の衆議院議員である安倍元首相は、参議院議員選挙期間中に、同じ政党の自民党の立候補者を応援するために奈良県で街頭演説を行っていました。
Former Prime Minister Abe, a member of Liberal Democratic Party(LDP), was in Nara Prefecture for the House of Councilors election to make a street speech in support of a candidate from LDP.
その街頭演説中に40代の男性が拳銃を発射し、安倍元首相は亡くなりました。
During that street speech, a man in his 40s fired a gun, killed Abe.
被疑者はその場ですぐに取り押さえられ逮捕されました。
The suspect was immediately seized and arrested.
被疑者の供述によると、ある特定の宗教団体に恨みがあり、その宗教団体と安倍元首相が深い関係性があると思っていたという理由で銃撃したということです。
According to the suspect’s testimony, he shot Abe because he had a grudge against a particular religious group and believed that the religious group and Abe had a close relationship.
安倍元首相の国葬｜Shinzo Abe’s state funeral
安倍元首相は7月8日に亡くなり、12日に葬儀が行われました。
Abe passed away on July 8, and a funeral was held on July 12.
葬儀は終わりましたが、各国からの弔問を求める声があることや、自民党内から安倍元首相の国葬を求める声が上がっていることから、岸田首相は安倍元首相の国葬を行うことを発表しました。
After the funeral was over, Prime Minister Kishida announced that a state funeral would be held for Abe due to condolences from overseas countries and requests of LDP for state funeral.
9月27日、東京の日本武道館（にっぽんぶどうかん）にて安倍元首相の国葬が執り行われました。
On September 27, a state funeral was held at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
4,000人ほどが参列し、そのうち700人ほどが海外からで、アメリカからカマラハリス（Kamala Devi Harris ）副大統領。オーストラリアのアンソニー・アルバニージー（Anthony Norman Albanese）首相、インドのモディ（Narendra Damodardas Modi）首相など２１８の国や地域、国際機関の代表者が参列しました。
About 4,000 people attended, 700 of whom were from abroad, including Vice President Kamala Devi Harris from the United States. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Norman Albanese, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi, and representatives of 218 countries, regions, and international organizations attended.
無事国葬は終わりましたが、国葬反対の国民のデモがあったり、欠席する国会議員が多く参列者が少なかったりと賛否が分かれる国葬となってしまいました。
Although the funeral was held without incident, it was a mixed affair, with demonstrations by the public against the funeral and a small attendance by many Diet members who were absent.
